If you make a money box out of green oak (green means new and unseasoned, not the colour ) and try to save £2 coins in it, after two months they all go black and the bank won't accept them ! Then you have to soak them in Brasso and polish each one back to it's proper condition.

How's that for useless information ?

I'd consider that useful information actually. Now anyone in the UK knows not to make that kind of box for £2 coins - or if they do to have Brasso on hand.

Of course, there aren't any £2 coins here. Not sure if there's any Brasso either.....
