In 1971 Salford fish-and-chip shop owner George Khan expects his family to follow his strict Pakistani Muslim ways. But his children, with an English mother and having been born and brought up in Britain, increasingly see themselves as British and start to reject their father's rules on dress, food, religion, and living in general. One of Britain's better films in recent years as far as I'm concerned. Not an absolute belter but it does have some good moments. Anyone agree/diagree? Not seen it?......

I really ratet this film - an absolute corker! I can do a fair impression if the Dad too... used to do it at work. "Ah bluddy telling yew missiz - it no belong to heem - hiz ticky-tackle belong to Gawdd!" ;D Too many good scenes to comment on and quote - would take me ages! This has been in my collection for yonks - a great film! N.

Then you are a skilled man.
The longer the pole the harder it would be to cause damage on impact... closer to the body equals more pound per square inch of pressure etc. etc.
Simply a question of ergonomics my dear Brigadier.
Or as Jon Pertwee would say:
"I'll explain it to you later, Jo"
