Bluebottle has informed me, he got Kay's official book for Christmas and will be taking it to NY to read on the plane.
I'll see if I can borrow it off him, and give you my verdict, which is probably very predictable!

No, I've still not read it yet. Not sure if Bluebottle has. I've not heard from him for a few weeks.

I know it's a wee bit late for posting on this thread, my wife got me the book from a club at her work for £8 not longer after it came out. I really enjoyed it because coming from Bolton myself I could relate to a lot of the places mentioned. Not only that I lived 5 mins. away and went to the same secondary school as Peter's Dad Michael and we were good buddies. I know what Peter means when he mentions the Nuns in his book because Michael and I went to Catholics schools. Some of those nuns would have put the Krays to shame. Peter says his first job was at a tissue/toilet roll factory, that would be Francis Lee's place ex pro. footballer. Franni started that businness in Westhoughton many years ago. He lived in Westhoughton for quite a number of years in a thatched cottage. Then his businness was collecting any old paper and bailing it for sale. Going back to the book I would recommend reading it, it is a laugh. N. if you haven't read it let me know and you can borrow it. Hope I haven't bored you all too much with my prattle.

Got the Peter Kay one last night. I've read the first two chapters so far. So far it's been a few anecdotes of his early jobs and a bit about school. As I'd heard in a review, he doesn't give much away about himself. Some stuff in it is a bit funny, but not brilliant.
I hope it gets more interesting....
