I dunno. They've been talking about a Simpsons movie for years. I hope it's good, I really, really, do. But with the way the TV show has been declining the last few years, I wonder if they've got any good material to stretch out over 75, 90, or even 120 minutes. Sometimes even a 22--minute episode for TV is a chore to watch these days.
I think they should have made the movie years ago when the Simpsons was at it's peak, gone out with a bang, instead of now, when the TV show is whimpering, and in my opinion the movie is just a way to strain more out of an OLD franchise.

I have to agree, for as bad as the show has been lately I am not hopeing for much out of the movie. They should fire the new writers and go back to the original ones.

The Two Sheds family are planning on going watching it tomorrow.

Has anyone bothered to go watching this yet? . I'll take that as a 'no'. We all went watching it this afternoon. I didn't think it was too bad to be honest. Not the best ever Simpsons but I'd say it's well worth a watch. There are some funny slapstick scenes which my kids enjoyed. Homer gets most of the laughs throughout and there's also a Lisa sub-plot which isn't really necessary, so for those of you who don't like Lisa stories, you won't be arsed about that bit. It does have a BIG story to it which I reckon fits the movie aspect of it... Oh, and you get to see a part of Bart that's never been seen before! |
