I was going to put this in the 'Good Riddance' section, but maybe it'll make a comeback. Am I not on my own in thinking this is a pile of b*llocks. I'm not a big fan of American sitcoms, but I'm always willing to give them a chance. With Friends, what's so funny about someone walking through a door? Why does the audience get so excited when there's more than two characters on the set at the same time? Why do they laugh at every sentence? I'll laugh if it's funny, but come on, they took the p*ss with this. 10 seasons.... Why?

With you having Bernard as your avatar, I've started reading your posts in his voice. Especially the above mentioned! ;D ;D For a small fee Mr Spielberg, I'll phone ye and leave a message 'as Bernard'... I can do a pretty spot on impression, and phoned up a lad I used to work with and did just that... here's the message I left (imagine the voice again). "Hello my son, this is Bernard. Just ringing to tell you, it was a right sh*thouse trick you not turning up at the Embassy Club last night... where were ye son? You'd been paid, so what's yer f*ckin' problem? Anyroad sunshine, just to tell you, don't f*cking bother in future... I'd sooner have the Chuckle Brothers back if that's your attitude... and believe me, they're a lot cheaper! Next time you want to perform at my club, get ready to grovel!"etc. Naturally, his wife went mad and wondered what the fook it was about... and she thought it was Bernard Manning too - he twigged though! Nearly as good as me 'Gay' message I left him: "Hello... I'm answering your advertisement in 'Goodfellows Manchester Meetup' magazine... you did say ring after 7 so your wife wouldn't hear, and you'd be able to delete this message before she got home. Anyhow... I CAN accommodate... how far away are you from Rusholme? I don't do poppers though... I've a heart condition, but everything else you suggest is okay by me. Byee!"And his wife... nah... she knew that was me... even though I did me 'modified Alan Bennett' voice, she sussed it straight away! ;D N.

You could wind Mrs. Spielberg up as Bernard if you like. Leave a message on BT answer thingy. I'll have to PM the details!
;D
She might not be taken in though, coz I do that sort of thing myself, but it's worth a try!

Friends was dung, even by American standards.

I think I'm alone here in liking it!! I'm not into most modern American comedy, but at the time this was out I watched it. Not laugh out loud funny, but it wasn't your usual American comedy with dumbed down jokes. The Joey series wasn't particularly any good though.

Friends was rubbish. It's up there with Big Brother in terms of awful TV.
If it had ugly people starring in it, would people have liked it so much?
I don't think so.
It's just not funny! I'd rather have myself fed through a mangle than watch an episode.

I guess I'll be one of the few on here that actually liked (and still like) Friends. I don't consider myself a fan of American sitcoms but there are a few that are very good, and Friends is one of them Aye, I've been on this side of the pond for a while but I'm still not Americanised
