Torchwood, which started on BBC America last week. So far, I've watched the first two episodes, which are all that have been broadcast.
I don't like it completely yet, but I do like it, sort of. One thing that was very weird was hearing all the Wwlsh accents. Strange to think at about six I used to sound like that ;D. But Wwlsh is typically not the accent you expect for science fiction.
Another thought is that in some scenes in the very first episode (before Gwen actually joins up) make Captain Jack and Gwen seem like merely another version of the Doctor and his Companion.
I do like all the alien gadgets though, and I've no doubt I'll warm up to the show more as the season goes on. My biggest gripe is that sometimes it tries too hard to show how it's more grown up than Doctor Who. Somehow a scene of a bouncer...um...enjoying himself...with CCTV footage of the bathroom shenanigans is wrong in a show whose roots are 1960s family entertainment.

I finally got to see Torchwood. I must say I wasn't impressed at all. The character of Gwen looked promising but when in episode 2 she gets into the cell of a prisoner that they know can kill without a weapon, I turned it off. She is suppose to be a police officer and I'm sure that isn't something they were taught to do in the Academy. I may give it another try later on, but for now forget it.

The new show called Cavemen is going to premier soon. It's all about the characters created in a commercial for the auto insurance Geico in which one of their tag lines is "so easy a caveman could do it." The premise of the commercials is that GEICO advertises that using their website is "so easy, a caveman could do it"; and that this slogan offends cavemen, who not only still exist in modern society but live as intelligent, urbane yuppies. Of course this just screamed sitcom and here it is. I'm not holding out too much hope that it will be any good, but I'll give it a look anyway.

Just watched the Richard Donner version of Superman II. It was very interesting to see an alternative version. Some scenes were much better than the original, although some scenes didn't quite work for me.
For those who have also seen this, I didn't like the 'rewinding the world again' ending, and it buggered up the actual final scene in the diner. If Superman had reversed recent events, why bother putting on that daft wig and returning to the diner to sort that 'Rocky' bloke out.

Here though - how sh*te is the dialogue and acting in that film? Makes 'Cell Block H' look like something put on by the RSC! N.

On the subject of Superman: ;D
First, for Two Sheds, the "rewinding again" scene was originally supposed to be in II, but when things went pear shaped they put it in I because they thought it was so cool they had to use it while they had it. If I bombed, there wouldn't have been a II, and no rewinding scene at all. So originally, it was always intended for II. The original ending of I was the three baddies escaping the LP cover they were trapped in and heading toward Earth.
I watched the most recent Superman "film" today called Superman:Doomsday, a 75-min animated film supposedly telling the story of the comic book Death Of Superman from 1992-93. It wasn't bad, but they left a LOT out from the original story and changed the rest to fit into the short time. A shame really since the original comics (and novelisation which is awesome) have so much material, it could have been done so much better.
So, it was good for what it was, could have been better. It came out last week here on DVD, but I noticed our cable co have it OnDemand for only $4, so I thought why not. At least it didn't cost me $15 for the DVD!

As to that final diner scene though, that SHOULDN'T have gone in. p.s. - I'm currently watching the 8th and final series of Steptoe & Son.
