Actor Dom DeLuise, best known for his role in Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles, has died aged 75.
DeLuise, right, who started as a comedian, also starred in History of the World: Part One as a winesodden Emperor Nero and as Burt Reynolds' sidekick in Cannonball Run and Smokey and the Bandit movies. He died in a Los Angeles hospital yesterday.
Reynolds, a longtime friend, said: "Dom always made everyone feel better when he was around. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone."

Pity to lose a dan fine comedy actor. May be of interest to note that he created the Lots-A-Luck series, the US version of On the Buses.
