I am going to try and make more of a effort to post here. I would miss Planet Comedy if it was gone.....

Let's put our shoulders to the wheel and our best foot forward.
Will there be marmalade for breakfast ?

Me too. Gonna try and post more and more.
And here's a thought. A while back we tried to entice other members to start posting. Since that didn't work, I honestly wouldn't mind if it was just the regulars who posted on a...well...regular....basis, as long as there's still life in the Planet.

This may be a radical suggestion and "The Boss" can ignore it if he chooses. Maybe it's time to cull the herd so to speak. We have a lot of members who have joined and never made a single post. Perhaps it's time to delete their accounts. I know that sounds mean, but maybe there should be a rule that anyone who joins must make at least one post in the first month to remain. Oh, gosh I hope that doesn't make me sound cold hearted, it's just a thought I had.

I don't think it sounds mean. They have had a few emails to remind them to pop in and post. But so far few have. I do know my better half joined a long time ago. But he is hardly ever on the computer so thats why he does not post.

Doesn't sound too harsh to me..... but it's up to the boss..... might cause him work? As long as us regulars keep posting - it feels like a little family on here! Not that new people can't join our little group

The point is, they join, then don't post, so what's the point of their joining?
Sometimes I think: Delete all the non-posters, then make the place a private forum, and just keep it available for us that do post regularly - the 'family'.

A private forum would be great. We could still get new member, but it would be by invitation only.

Sometimes I think: Delete all the non-posters, then make the place a private forum, and just keep it available for us that do post regularly - the 'family'. That hits the nail on the head! I think people see this place as nothing more than a clique, so choose not to bother posting, or they might have posted once or twice and didn't feel they fitted in here so buggered off. That wasn't the original concept of this place and nor is that how I want it to end up. What's the point of having a worldwide web, which leaves it open to everyone, then limiting it to a selected few? I understand that there are many who have never posted anything, but that is their choice. We can't force people to join in if they don't want. That's their loss in the end because we'll never find out what they think of anything.

Ok, then we regulars have to step it up when it comes to welcoming new members. I know that I'm very lax in doing that but I'm going to be more friendly towards the new members from now on. I really love this place and I want to see it go on for a long, long time. When people see what a great bunch of people we are they'll be posting right along side the best of us, I just know it.

Likewise, I'll do my best to be more welcoming to newbies. That said, once they join, it doesn't matter how nice they are, or how nice we are to them - if they don't want to post, there's nothing we can do. (Except of course, finding them and clamping them to their computer desks and modifying all the web browsers on their systems to point ONLY to Planet Comedy.) What? Bit extreme? Better stick to nice hellos then.
