I've just heard about the L&H sketch from an e-mail off Roger Robinson. If you were offended by it KK, you wasn't the only one. The Sons of The Desert aren't at all happy about it, and have gone so far as to write a complaint to the BBC.
I didn't see it myself but reading what was in the e-mail, the sketch seems to have just been a complete insult to Stan & Ollie just to get a cheap laugh.

the sight of Ollie Buggering Stan is not what I call funny! It doesn't even sound it. p.s. - I've renamed this thread so we all know what show we're talking about.

Cripes!
Not seen the show (obviously) and not a huge fan of L&H, but I always was a fan of Harry and Paul back home.
This sounds incredibly crass and not something I'd have enjoyed either. Then again, I remember when Harry Enfield left the BBC for a sketch show on Sky - that was crap too, not a patch on old classics like Harry Enfield's Television Program or Harry Enfield and Chums.
Maybe a case of "if it ain't broke don't fix it."

I'll watch the repeat of this tomorrow night and let you know my verdict on 'that' sketch. Apart from that, was any of it any good?

got an updated e-mail. This is the view of Glenn Mitchell (author of the L&H encycopaedia...
Our take was that, if they had to do it at all (which is questionable), more of a satirical point might have been made about BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN (or `Broke Back Passage' as some of us know it) by having L&H engage in some innocuous activity that made it look as though they were doing it, even though they weren't, and getting caught that way, as per the pants gag in LIBERTY (and indeed in a wisely deleted gag from BE BIG). The gag then would be that the controversial gay aspect of BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN was actually based on a serious misinterpretation of the action by audiences and critics, while also highlighting the contrasting innocence of L&H. Then again, that would have been intelligent and funny and thus have no place in this programme ...

If you find a funny line Please let me know, It came across as though they took all the sketches they thrown out as Crap on previous shows and gone Bugger it they'll do.
