Raising the Mary Rose on 11 October 1982. (I remember watching it in school - we were let out of lessons to watch it on tv ) I remember this, but didn't see what all the fuss was about at the time! Who remembers the Queen's visit to Wigan? Did anyone go to that? I got the day off school to supposedly go but went to Wigan (Mesnes) park instead! I do remember seeing footage on telly that night though. And a few weeks earlier, Wigan council gave Wallgate bridge a lick of paint so the Queen didn't think we were all a set of scruffy gets!

I didn't get the fuss either...it just looked like a lump of rotting wood...
Now older can see the histrorical element..
Can't remember about day of Queens visit...Did you know she thinks the world smells of paint?...everywhere she goes about 10 foot infront of her there's a painter going like Buggery!

I remember that stuff vaguely, and I was born in '77.
I was also a HUGE fan of Sir Clive's computers back in the 80s (and 90s), though I started with the ZX81.

Bros??? BROS??BROS?? whatever.... As for white Dog shit, I remember that well. It used to crumble if you stepped on it and didn't it make a comeback a few years ago? Not for long though. More a 'limited edition'.
