Duke D'Mond, the singer of comedy band The Barron Knights, has died after suffering a heart attack and developing pneumonia aged 66. The frontman died on April 9 at 9pm (BST), reports the band's official website, Barronknights.com. On the site the band left a message paying tribute to the singer. "All of us Barron Knights are devastated at losing a friend who was a member of the band for 46 years," the message read. "He had a great singing voice and was very much a part of all our hit records and was a great performer on stage." D'Mond's funeral will take place in Dunstable on Monday (April 27). The Barron Knights formed in 1959 in Bedfordshire and enjoyed success with parody hits throughout the 1960s and '70s. Duke is in the Sunglasses
