A Similar thing used to be said about Morecambe & Wise
"You can tell it's Christmas Morecambe & Wise are on..."
The Morecambe & Wise Christmas Show for years was as much a part of Christmas as Christmas Dinner and The Queens Speech.
When it came to Christmas the country would come to a halt as everyone tuned in to watch Morecambe & Wise. Something that made the show special was the chemistry the 2 men had and the way the played off each other so well. Personally when it comes to comic timing Eric Morecambe was a Genius. Morecambe & Wise gave us a whole Dictionary of stock Catch phrases for example:
"This play what I wrote."
"Beauty like what I have got"
"Little Ern."
"Him with the short fat hairy legs."
"What do you think of it so far..........RUBBISH!!!!!!"
In my opinion the GREATEST Morecambe & Wise sketch is
Grieg's Piano Concerto with Andre' Previn..
