A MASKED man threatened staff with a crowbar at the club used for filming Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights and stole more than £4,000.
It is believed the thief hid in toilets when St Gregory's Social Club in Church Street, Farnworth, closed - and emerged when staff had cashed up for the night.
He burst into the bar area with a crowbar at around 1.30 am yesterday and threatened a 49-year-old woman club worker who was about to lock up.
Paul Sandland, chairman of the club, said: "This was a very scary ordeal for the woman involved.
"She had been left on her own for about a minute-and-a half to lock up while another member of staff went to finish some paperwork.
"The man came out of the ladies' toilets and ordered her to open up the tills and the safe. She has been left shaken by the incident. We are still counting how much he got away with, but it is more than £4,000."
The thief is described as a white, in his 30s and of medium build. He was wearing a balaclava, a dark parka, and jeans.

If they'd took 8 grand, that would be ironic!
....I wonder if they've got in touch with Crime-Time!
