An American show that was originally on HBO from 2001 - 2005, it's now shown edited on Barvo in the US. It's a comedy drama set in a family-owned funeral home just outside of LA.
Each episode starts with a death but the rest of the episode is mostly spent dealing with the dysfunctional family's misadventures around the death. Usually they provide the funeral so the corpse is around; sometimes they don't, but usually get involved somehow. But as I said, in a way the deaths are usually secondary to the main storyline.
It won a ton of awards and usually didn't pull any punches with language or content, although that is watered down (ie, editied to crap) on basic cable. Still worth watching though.
I think C4 or E4 show (or showed) it in the UK

I could possibly give this a try.
That's what I llike about this forum. There are some things I'd never bother watching, but going off other folk's opinions I am always willing to give some stuff a try or at least a 2nd chance.
The best example of this for me is 'Family Guy'. Never seen it until recently, but am now collecting the DVD's! thanks to Zygon & Columbo's recommendations!
That doesn't mean I am easily manipulated....
Or am I?
