Well, I watched this one the other day... excellent effects and some great action scenes, but to be honest I didn't feel that it was all that funny, and that it dragged... unlike 'Shaun Of The Dead'. Glad I borrowed rather than bought this one. N.

dude, i was lmao on the film. My girl liked just the first half, she thought the shootout was a bit stupid.
there's the classic line '**** you, grasshopper!'

I love Hot Fuzz! ...but then I pretty much love anything with Pegg in Yes, it wasn't as laugh-out-loud funny as Shaun, but it was a different style & feel. Great comedy gore! & Dalton was fantastic To be honest, it's a grower. The more I watch it the funnier I think it is.... and the more I quote it! *thinks about quoting it, thinks about how it might be taken, changes mind*

Just got the 2 Disc edition for £3...I'll give it a go... Half way through it - Not at all impressed...in fact did the KK method for watching films which aren't impressing but want to see if inproves (Put Subtitles on and watch at 2x speed!)

Narp?
I suppose it helps if you are a Spaced fan as the direction/style is very similar. Also there are a couple of in-jokes and nods to Shaun Of The Dead -
"Want anything from the shop?" "Cornetto"
- in the scene when he's looking through the dvd's in the supermarket there are copies of Shaun in the bargain basket!
Never mind, we can't all like the same stuff. I still love it!

I noticed the Shaun in the DVD basket was called something different... The point of here is for us all to say what we like...and if no one else does (Which with my taste happens a lot!) well, so it is! One thing I did like was Olivia Colman in a police uniform...

One thing I did like was Olivia Colman in a police uniform... No surprise there! If you're really determined to get rid, maybe I could take it off your hands? ... I feel a PM coming on....

One of my fav films this one. I just love the humor and film references in it! I kind of like it more than Shaun Of The Dead actually but they're both favourites of mine!

They're both great..... funny how most people don't seem to like both, though! I just love Pegg, basically

Having not seen Shaun of the Dead, I can't comment on it, but since Hot Fuzz is now (free) on Demand here, I fired it up.
I have to say, I ain't that impressed either. It's sort of amusing in places, but after watching about half of it, I've more or less given up on it.
A shame too, because with the cast they have (with greats like Jim Broadbent, Edward Woodward etc) it could have been so much better.

Having now watched the rest, I do think it got better - and I sort of liked the slapstick-ness of the final shootout - but still hardly the greatest film I've ever seen.
