Anyone else have this so called new & improved service which they took over from NTL? My internet connection has never been as sh*te since they took over. It's forever cutting off lately, then I have trouble reconnecting. If anyone else is with Virgin, have you had similar problems? If it carries on, a nasty phone-call will be arranged! Right, I'll settle down now's that's off my chest! ;D

What that means is that once in a blue moon I will have trouble getting on line, but all I do when this happens is unplug the lead count to 10 plug it back in an it works.. However if you feel you need to complain you go for it.....

But would complaining do any good?
I don't think so!

I tried complaining via email - the c*nts haven't replied yet - been over a week, and you can't get through on the 'helpline' either.

We moved to TalkTalk a few months ago from aol. T/T is a lot cheaper but we are having similar problems because now we use internet explorer as the browser, the updated one. It's forever flagging up there is a technical fault, the only way to exiit is to get booted. Grrrrrr. aol was a lot more user friendly but when you can get internet/phone anytime cheaper than what we paid aol what do you do.

we use internet explorer as the browser, the updated one. I've always used internet explorer as my browser. I updated to the new version a few weeks back. I ended switching off half of the so-called new features. So now it runs just like the old one. Pointless upgrading it really.

We also had agreed to to the new contract just before we moved. We already had the Evenings and Weekends free calls for years, actually you was charged 6p. for up to an hour. The only diff. was on the new one was the 6p. charge was dropped. I didn't realise on the new contract I had verbally agreed to take it out for 18 months. Cut a long story short when we moved to T/T B.T. wanted 16 months money back which came to appx. £240 because of the agreement. After numerous phone calls and me contacting office fair trading they agreed to drop the charges. If anyone is interested TalkTalk is £19.99p. a month. This includes Talk anytime free even National calls and it means anytime 24/7, they pay the line rental to B.T.. Also if you want free Internatinal calls it's just £1 a month extra. You get 8Mg. broadband included (says free), the only drawback is it goes through a B.T. landline. If you are not near enough to a B.T. exchange like us you get just over 2 Mg. T/T did say in the future they are going to install their own equipment in B.T. excahnges to allow 8 Mg., when I don't know. Btw. you have to buy a modem for around £30.

Well, once again we're having communication trouble because of Virgin Media. We are now unable to make outgoing phone calls. It's been like this since Sunday. I rang them on Monday to sort it out. I was on the phone for 90 minutes trying to sort it... If you're wondering, we can still dial out if we use a prefix number which then creates a separate bill to BT, which I'm not happy about seeing as we already pay a monthly fee to Virgin which includes call costs... Anyway, after 90 minutes of being passed around to different people (who, for some reason couldn't get my account details up for quite some time), they eventually told me it would be sorted out within 48 hours. I'm still waiting.... And I'm not looking forward to having to make another call to them. Sadly, no other phone company can offer a better deal than what we have at the moment, so we're stuck with them for now.

For once I like BT...They've knocked the Net price Down and given us a free BT vision box (Basically a Freeview box with Hard drive)

Sadly, no other company can offer a better deal than what we have at the moment, so we're stuck with them for now. Ouch! I sympathise a lot. We had similar issues with our phone company back in April; they didn't sort it out and so since they're the ONLY local landline service (the blessing and curse of a small town!) we decided to go all-mobile and have had nothing but two mobiles since then. That's not my issue right now though. In a story related to communication company sheer incompetence: We only have one choice for cable TV (we can't put a dish up coz we don't own the building; local law, apparently) so we have to have cable. They ALWAYS seem to have you in one promotional package or another to lower your bill, but when they run out they always offer you another. The one they offered last month to replace the old one changed my channel lineup but I decided I'd give it a try. When the bill came it was a LOT more than I expected (turned out they increased the internet speed too), so off I go to a phone box (we're still charged for free numbers with a mobile) and call them. After tons of navigating their touch tone menu I eventually get a real person. I explain to him I don't like my channel package and want to change to something similar to what I had before. He said he can't, it's not his department. He can take me out of the promo but all that will do is leave me with the channels I have at the inflated price. I don't want these channels, I want my old channels. He says it's not his department. Okay, can he connect me to the right department? He says no. I say I find it hard to understand how a communications company can't communicate me to the right department. He says his system can't do that. Why not? He doesn't know. He tells me he'll talk to his supervisor. I wait. He comes back, says his supervisor is allowing me(!) to be given the number for the promotions department. He gives me the number. I ask what I can do if I don't get what I want from this number. He said (you guessed it!) he doesn't know. I call the number he gives me. Rather than the promotions department it's the online department! They have nothing to do with channel packages or internet speed. I have to call the retention department. I'm not sure what an Online department is and I wonder if the retention department will be something to do with swollen feet. I tell him not to bother, and put the phone down, thoroughly p*ssed off, tempted to dump cable TV altogether and go to an aerial (which I don't have anyway...). If not for my DVR, it might have been a close call. Anyway, still fuming, I call them back the following night. Using the EXACT same menu I get through to the right person right away. I tell her exactly what I want, and what happened? Amazing. Within 10 minutes I have the channels I want, the slower internet speed I originally had (I don't notice a difference), and a bill reduced by about $35! So why couldn't the rentabrain the previous day do that?
