BAFTA-winning comic KAREN TAYLOR returns to BBC THREE this summer with a brand new extended series. Get ready for a seven-week dose of Touch Me, I’m Karen Taylor, packed with more saucy humour and no-nonsense satire.
Now a “fully-fledged celebrity with her own television programme and three stars in Heat”, KAREN’s back, with a show jammed with Series One favourites and all-new set-ups: like Cash Cow, the £5-a-minute late-night phone-in quiz; At Home with The Smithsons, where Kerry Katona meets Anna Nicole Smith in a fly-on-the-wall reality show featuring former stripper Joanna and her 80-year-old husband; and Glamorama, the WAG-styled current affairs show tackling hard-hitting issues like ‘IVF’, “which stands for old women trying to have babies”.
Characters back with vengeance include: school mistress Miss Harper, fresh from a 12-week stint in the nonce wing of an all-female prison; the faux-mo “don’t need a man” Lipstick Lesbians Kaz and Jen; and the hormonally-charged superhero Pre Menstrual Girl, who finally encounters her nemesis, Unaccountably Moody Man.
Prepare for a brand new series of the show where stand-alone sketches like I’m An Outpatient Get Me Out of Here run alongside skits such as Mememespace – the site which brings the psychosis of social networkers to life – as Touch Me, I’m Karen Taylor once again offers a refreshing look at love, life and modern day obsessions.
Caught a bit of this the other night. Thought it was new at first (which it is), but I didn't know this was the 2nd series. Seemed OK too what I saw of it. Basically a sketch show featuring 'her' what used to be in 'The Sketch Show.
I sensed input on the writing side of it from Steve Coogan, but after reading the credits I was wrong. Although Karen Taylor has featured in some Coogan stuff.
