Being a bit of a saddo, (and a bit p*ssed) last night, I set out on a trek to see if I could find a game I used to play on my ZX Spectrum. It's called Jetpac and although I could find references to it, it didn't seem to be available. This morning I just typed "Jetpac" in my browser and up it came ! I must have been more under the influence than I thought, because I didn't think of being that simple last night. Er.............. well, you know what I mean. My very first computer was the ZX81, pre-dating the Speccy by a year! When I eventually moved up to a Speccy, I ended up owning all of them at one time or another except for the disk-based +3. Now, this is going to make me sound old, but for all the great games, cool graphics, and so on of modern gaming systems like the PS3, Xbox 360 and so on, it's safe to say I had the most fun gaming on my Spectrum(s) back in the 80s and 90s. I'm sure I've got an emulator on disc somewhere. I'll have to dig it out. Thanks for that, Mr. L. Brought back some awesome memories. |

An amendment to my last post re Jetpac : just tried to play it on my desktop PC. Holy Sh*t ! Don't try it unless you're a teenage geek !!! It's sooooooooooooooooooo fast. I was playing it on my Asus EEE notepad thingy and it was just like the old speccy, but as soon as my Brats let me near my proper computer (they've got their own, why do they monopolise mine ?  ) I couldn't get past the first level.  |
