We probably won't be watching much locally unless people get their collective heads from their collective behinds.
The Writer's Guild of America has gone on strike. That means for daily-produced shows (like the late night talk shows and daytime soap operas) they'll be off thei air almost immediately and in constant repeats. The primetime dramas and cinema-release films will follow.
Apparently reality TV will be unaffected (oh joy(!) ) because it's not scripted. Nor will local news, but the rest - up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
They SAY they've known this is coming and have been stockpiling scripts, but I doubt it - they always say stuff to the public to make things seem better than they are, don't they? Plus, the last time this happened it lasted six months and cost the US entertainment industry $500,000,000!
The reason? Apparently, based on regulations last updated in 1985(!) writers are ticked off because they apparently legally can't claim royalties from "new media" sales of their shows, like DVDs or downloaded TV shows etc, because of course they didn't exist when the regs were formed in 1985. I can't really say I blame them, but still - sucks for American TV.

Shrek the Third....
NOt as good as I expected it to be. The whole thing about Shrek having kids is a bit of a scam. The kids only appear in a short dream sequence and a little bit right at the end of the film.
(Sorry for the spoiler for those of you who haven't seen it!)

Actually, I'm kind of glad you posted that -- tends to put me off wanting to see it a little more -- although it only finished at our local cinema TWO WEEKS ago, just before coming out on DVD. Apparently there are going to be two more. While I like the first two, I think that might be stretching it a bit.

As you say KITT, the 1st two were good. They should've left it at that, but to make more is obviously a way to fill the pockets of the chaps and chapesses who work at Dreamworks.

Yeah, because they realise that with the Shrek name on it, diehard fans are going to flock to the cinemas to see them even if they're tat.

LIFE ON MARS!
Tonight's ep on in ten minutes. I'll let half an hour record so I can zap the ads. Just enough time to make some tea and get something to eat.
Lovely.
