Peep show's good... once you get used to the style. But there are a few cringy-type moments that are hard to watch. I thought you'd already be into this..... considering the female lead

I watched a British comedy on BBC America on Friday - That Mitchell And Webb Look. Hardly earth-shattering comedy, it was sort of amusing on a minor level until they started making jokes about some bloke getting heroin as a birthday pressie. Hardly a subject to joke about.
Is all modern British comedy this bad these days?

Is all modern British comedy this bad these days? I watched this for the first time a few months back.... it's quite old now, I think it pre-dates Peep Show. I can't be sure, but I don't think it was even aired. They were asked to make a sketch show for a tv channel that got cancelled very quickly. I kind of like it! But then I like Mitchell & Webb. The 3rd (or maybe 4th) ep had a couple of bartenders that made really bad sound effects - like saying squelch - that people thought were real...... sounds stupid but it had me giggling

Just realized - I'm completely wrong!!! I was thinking of 'The Mitchell & Webb Situation'..... not Look! Look is the series with Numberwang - which I was completely obsessed with

Unless I'm missing something from the UK an American audience wouldn't understand, why is Numberwang funny? Might just be me, but yelling out random numbers in a bad parody of a bad gameshow is, well, bad.

I just liked the complete randomness of it.... but then I like obscure stuff. It was just surreal enough for me!
I also like Sir Digby Chicken Caesar.

Watched last night's Torchwood - called "Adam"
Also watched Transformers and FG Blue Harvest.
Currently a 40-year old episode of the US-version of "What's My Line?" is on in the background.
