Today, fruit juice and Dr. Pepper. Odd, considering it's Thanksgiving, but I really rarely drink alcohol any more.

;D Not a good idea to mix your drinks ! Mrs L had her work do Saturday, taxi laid on, nice meal and free bar. Not being a big drinker she had 3 Bacardi and cokes and liberal helpings of the wine on the table, then wondered why she had a headache on Sunday. Boy was she hard to live with ! I was very well behaved myself and drank equal amounts of water with the copious amounts of red wine available. Made a bit of a prat of myself a couple of years ago by accepting several scotches between wines and then falling over. I spent the night on the sofa cos I couldn't get up the stairs, and was ill all the next day. Never again !

I did that myself once, only I was drinking beer, and (for reasons I won't go into! ) eating copious amounts of sorbet. I wasn't ill the following day, but...if only that sink had been two inches closer!

The best way I can think of to describe it was like...well, frozen wine-flavoured ice cream. It was served in wine glasses, but you had to eat it with a spoon, and it had the texture and consistency of ice cream.

Would you believe lime and soda ? Made a new year resolution to not have any booze until my birthday in February. This was due to the fact that at the end of the 10 days I had off over Christmas, there were 8 empty wine bottles in the recycling bin, plus the one I took to my Mum's on Christmas day. As I'm the only one who drinks wine in our house, this was a bit alarming. Especially as I didn't really notice. It was just there !!!!!!!!!

Cracking resolution, Mr. L, good luck with it.
We got some beers in for Renee's birthday on Thursday, and I drank seven cans on Thursday night.
On Friday morning, I didn't exactly feel rough (I pride myself that I've never had a hangover) but I definitely didn't feel as sparkly as I should have. Yet another sign that I'm getting older - ten years ago I could have drank twice that much and never noticed.
Back to fruit juice and coffee today!

We went out Fri night & got rather drunk.... I've only just really recovered I remember lots of vodka-based drinks, including a Red Bull style pitcher polished off between the two of us that left me buzzing! I'd been up since half 5 so needed something to keep me going... we got to bed at 5am, so I'd been up for practically 24 hours Over all a Beltin' night, but the long recovery time reminded me that I'm not as young as I used to be
