It's my nephew's 1st birthday next weekend, so we had a trial-run at making the cake last weekend...... so lots of cake has to be eaten!! Oh well, it's a hard life....  |

Thanks to a little bit of good fortune, we have some rather good quality groceries.
Last night for dinner, I made potatoes with garlic sauce and steamed broccoli with red peppers. Renee had hers with shrimp.
I had mine with a New York strip steak.
Rather good it was too.

Well, we only got one, so it was a case of, "Do I get it, or does Renee get it?" and since we had the shrimp, and I'm not too fond of them, and she's not too fond of steak, it was a clear choice.
Besides, count yourself lucky: Every time you mention "Roast Larry" I pine a little bit. I haven't had any lamb since I left the UK since it's so damn expensive here.

Its apple season in the grocery stores. I picked up a 8lb bag of Macintosh's for $2.99 so I have been eating them a lot. Gala's are my personal favorite but I couldn't pass up the good price.

The salad is under the cheese. I tend to just bung it in and press hard ! Had a sausage and red onion baguette at the pub for lunch today. Deeeeelicious. |
