You sure know how to plan a meal ! Mrs L made jacket potato wedges with Chilli Con Carne tonight. Bit too spicy for me, and Barry might be visiting soon.

We had a 'rising crust' pizza the other night. It was 'just' pepperoni, but there was tons of meat on it, and the crust really did rise in the oven and had a wonderfully buttery flavour. The only problem with pepperoni pizza? All that oil and cheese? Yep. I'll be having the same issue as Mr. L.
Maybe hold off on making those greasy potatoes until tomorrow.

We haven't been to the local Chinese buffet for MONTHS. Probably won't until Summer, either. Stupid frigid cold. Anyway! On Tuesday Renee brought home pizza from work which was a nice surprise and very good. Another virtue of this apartment is that the stove WORKS. First time I can recall cooking pizza at home where I haven't burned my mouth on the lava-like sauce. Yesterday she made homemade macaroni and cheese, which she's good at. She found an old can of peas cowering at the back of the cupboard and chucked them in. Shame really. They were like little bullets. Tonight le chef extraordinaire (me!) will be making, ahem, Pommes de terre graisseuses avec du porc et les haricots cuits au four which is to say greasy potatoes with pork and baked beans.

It will be!
The greasy potatoes are actually done early and I'm having to leave them in the oven to keep warm. The smell in here is torturing me. It's wonderful, but it's torturing me!

Yet more adventures from Shake's kitchen! Last night we had a cobbled together dinner of leftovers in the cupboard since I hadn't been shopping yet. We had two kinds of potatoes with veg, stuffing and gravy. It sounds odd, but it was rather good. The only problem is, Barry has been visiting a LOT since.... Maybe leftovers weren't such a good idea.
