Did you know there were 6 Stooges? They started off As Ted Healy and His Stooges with Shemp as the 3rd Stooge. Then he left and Curly Joined... They left Ted and started the Short's for Columbia Curly left due to ill health and Shemp rejoined After Shemp died Joe Besser became the 3rd Stooge Then they finished the Short's but tv came to the rescue and they made several features in the '60's with curly Joe

I think Moe Howard was twice as intelligent as our current Stooge in the Oval Office.

I'm one of those "10% of women love the Three Stooges" camp. I grew up watching these guys, and I'd say a fair amount of my weird sense of humor can be attributed to them, along with Looney Tunes, Cheech and Chong, MPFC and National Lampoon (back in the day when it was actually scream-out-loud funny).
As with most folks, Curly's my favorite. I didn't care for Shemp for a long time, when I was little, till I learned he was a Howard as well. "Curly Joe" was just a joke, and not in a good way.
"Moe, Larry, the cheese! Moe, Larry, the cheese!" "NIAGARA FALLS! Slowly I turn, step by step, inch by inch!" (Far too many one-liners to go into, those are just two of the best.)
Here's a funny little observation. You'd have to know the American show "The Pretender" to get it. He (the star of the show) was posing as Jarod Fine (or Fein?), a doctor, and during the scene you hear in the background (he's talking to Dr Howard), "Calling Dr Howard, Dr Fein, Dr Howard." Now, this is generally a rather serious and dark TV show, but that single line had me roaring with laughter that someone on the show would THINK of that!

Kitten Kong, I know there was a movie with Michael J Fox, I think it was "Mars Attacks." I'm guessing here, but I know it wasn't "Doc Hollywood." They're at a hospital, and the doors opening and closing have the sound effect from "Star Trek." If I remember right, you can hear the "Calling Dr Howard..." line in the background.
