Let me say that I LOVE Christmas. (Please call it Christmas and not Xmas, that really p*sses me off too, but that's not my gripe today). Went in to Poundland on Sunday (2nd November) on the lookout for some bargains and they were playing f****ing Christmas songs ! I am not a religious person (what ? You don't believe me ? ;D) but I have always thought that Christmas was special and was also at the end of December. Shops start putting Christmas goods on sale in September, and even at work we have to order our Christmas lights at the end of July. At the risk of sounding like my Grandad, it wasn't like that in my day. And we had snow every Christmas when I was a kid. Didn't we ?

I agree, I'm already getting tired of the relentless Christmas selling rush...

As someone who's already bought & wrapped most of my gifts already I probably shouldn't say anything here
;D
But I do think it's too early to be playing the songs in shops. You get totally sick of them by December when they start this early!

We noticed them in Target last night.
I guarantee that within a couple of weeks, the Christmas lights will be up along Broadway. (They won't be turned on until Thanksgiving, but they'll be up.)
And, there's a 99.9% chance, we'll definitely have snow. Every year since I've been out here, we've had a white Christmas.

As someone who's already bought & wrapped most of my gifts already ;D Got no objection to that, (Mrs L buys most of our presents in January) just the way Christmas has turned into a commercial event, when it should be a season of good will and getting p*ssed

I love how they bring out selection boxes in August. By the time you can eat them, they're out of date!

I usually avoid the malls until the end of November. That way I don't get sick of Christmas before Christmas.
