Why do couriers always come when you're out ? Been in all day, nipped out for 20 minutes, got back to find a note from a courier."We tried to collect a parcel but you were out" said the note. "We waited until we saw you drive off and then decided to come " more like !! This happened last week too. Nipped round to the school to pick up little 'un, was gone 15 minutes. Over the years I've had some run-ins with couriers who seem to be a breed of their own. We've had parcels left on our doorstep when we lived in a house on a busy main road (must admit to keeping one book from Readers Digest after we had another one go walkies.) Then after we moved to a house with a drive we had one muppet leave a parcel under my wife's car while she was out. The silly little slip they left to inform us where they'd left it went unnoticed and she backed off the drive and squashed it !

Why do couriers always come when you're out ? They're specially trained. Like ninjas they conceal themselves & watch your house. They're very patient & can stay hidden all day. They wait till the precise moment you leave then quickly dash, put the prepared 'while you were out' card through your door and are gone before anyone notices them!

The b*stards have struck again ! I have parcels delivered to work as I'm there 6 days a week from 8 to 5. You would think that this would be enough time to be in the same place to guarantee getting something delivered, wouldn't you ? Not if it's being delivered by the Home Delivery Network, oh no ! Came in to work on Tuesday morning to find a "we tried to deliver" card. There is a phone number to rearrange delivery, so I phoned it. All automated, so I went on the website, to see if there was a number so I could speak to someone to ask them to leave it with the people in the flat above the shop. No contact number, so I requested delivery for Wednesday online. As I left last night I taped a note OVER the letterbox of the shop, asking the driver to :a) leave the parcel at the flat (they were in when I left), and b) to remove the note. I came in to work this morning to find the note exactly where I had left it, and a "we tried to deliver" card, marked "It has been returned to our depot for safekeeping". He had to remove the note from over the letterbox to get the card in, and then restuck it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The words "Sh*t for brains" spring to mind.

Been waiting in all day for a parcel. It's Mrs L's extra surprise Christmas present and it was promised today. She's out all day and I'm in, so it was the ideal day to get it delivered. It will no doubt arrive just as she gets home, or after I go to the vets at 6.

Some things don't change. I had a similar problem last week. Was told the item would be delivered in two days. The following day, they attempted delivery. Not expecting it, nobody was in! Luckily they brought it back on the day we expected, but don't they just p*ss you about! They should add a note at the end of every order 'please put your life on hold now until we can deliver it'
