We bought this computer that I am using about two months ago. After two weeks of using it, it started making noises. I asked on yahoo answers about what the issue could be. Many people said its probably the fan. I agree. Now its noisy all the time. We don't want to take a look at it ourselves cause we are not sure if the warranty will be voided. It is driving me batty.

I think you would invalidate your warranty if you had a look yourself, but that's only if they knew you had! If it is under warranty though, then it shouldn't cost you anything to get it checked out by the company you bought it from.

If you have no luck, new fans aren't too expensive and are relatively easy to fit. We have two PCs, one is noisy and the other has such a quiet fan that I often have to go into my daughter's bedroom to turn it off because she's not noticed it's still on.

Thanks everyone for the advise. Its probably safer for me to take it for them to look at it. If I do it I might really make it worse..lol.

I will do. Probably take it down on Thursday, when my better half has his days off so he can drive me. The last time I took the old computer to a shop on the bus I had a lot of stares.

The last time I took the old computer to a shop on the bus I had a lot of stares. That's wrong. Why does nobody stare when the little old granny's get on with those annoying shopping trolleys on wheels? If you can't take PC on board a bus without being stared at, that's just PC gone mad! ;D

When that started with our PC (which was only about three years old at the time) they replaced the fan and it's never done it since. If I recall, it cost us about $45.

Over here its not the granny's with carts on buses. Its mothers with huge double strollers blocking the aisle. My boyfriend drives the city buses and some of the stuff he has told me is crazy. One time there were four mothers with four strollers and they were arguing because they couldn't get on. He just sat back and let them deal with it. Not much else he can do. oops I think I got carried away on ranting about strollers...

But on a better note. The computer has stopped its annoying noises. So I am going to not bother to take it in unless it comes back.
