Okay. Sorry, this is going to be long(ish) but it's been two years and a little background is required. First, Renee and I moved in May 2010 from our nice apartment and into a house with the married couple I started working for. I'm Kathy's full time caregiver these days and usually on-call 24/7, so since they had the room and it worked out financially better for us, it was a good decision. 18 months later we're still going strong. On a regular basis, Kathy tends to refer to me as Paulie.
Kathy, however, as well as being my boss and my friend, tends to run my life. She tried to get me to go to a voice-over class last year and I said no. Back in December a similar opportunity came up and, knowing I wouldn't get away with "no" a second time, I agreed. It was a chance to record a demo at a local studio for radio theatre. Apparently they look for people who can do accents. After recording my demo, I was asked to play the part of a British soldier in The Christmas Truce, a radio play about the 1915 Truce that happened at Christmas in WWI. If anyone wants to listen, here's the link. Choose the Lakes Area Theatre version.

My lines start with, "My good friend Charles."
A month later, I was asked to be THE STAR (gulp) of The Ice Fairy, a moral tale aimed at children which I recorded last night, in front of a live audience! Eventually, it'll be posted on the Theatre website, then, gulp, it'll be broadcast on local radio!
And yes, I played a fairy. A fairy prince, but still a fairy. Let the jokes fly......
