Depends on how it's used.
I enjoy the photo sharing, banter in various groups and keeping up to date and in touch with people I don't see regularly.
If there are scum around they can be reported or blocked.

I tend to agree with the Collector. I use it, but I've never cared for FB.
Chances are it won't last, but it's nice to see the Planet alive (alive-ish) for the time being.
