HI, I'M IN DESPERATE NEED OF ADVICE. I HAVE TO WRITE A SKETCH SHOW THAT IS A TRANSFORMATION OF THE TEXT 'JANE EYRE', WHERE CAN I START? SHOULD EACH SKETCH HAVE A CATCH PHRASE? ALSO, WHERE CAN I FIND INSPIRATION...AND HOW CAN I ENSURE THAT WHAT I AM WRITING IS FUNNY? IS THERE SOME KIND OF RULE I SHOULD FOLLOW? THANKS.

Are you writing it as a spoof or is it a more straight comedy?

I'M AIMING TO PRODUCE A PILOT SKETCH-SHOW AT THE MOMENT BUT I'M OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS FOR OTHER FORMATS. HOW CAN I GO ABOUT IT?

AT THE MOMENT I'M JUST TRYING TO ANALYSE THE MAIN COMPONENTS OF OTHER POPULAR SKETCH SHOWS, CATHERINE TATE, LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN, LITTLE BRITAIN, ETC.

Might be better to get some comedy script books from the library. That way, you'll see the writing styles.
There's been a lot of comedy over the years, so there'll be a lot to choose from.
Talking of the library. I was doing some D.I.Y a few months ago. Mrs. Razzle wanted some shelves putting up. I hadn't a clue, so I went down to the library to get some.
As soon as I got in, the librarian woman was there to help. "Excuse me love!" I said "Have you got any books on shelves?"....
;D
Bloody Beltin'!
