'Ooh Betty' and all that. I've just bought the boxed set of this (should I admit to that) Not the best comedy show ever, but it has been repeated about 1000 times over the years. Noticed it was on last week! I bought it just to see if there are any episodes I haven't seen. (trying to justify buying it!!!)I think the main aspect of Frank Spencer was the stunts involved with it. One I watched the other night, Frank was hanging off one of those window cleaning crane thingy's about 500 foot up! You have to give credit to Michael Crawford for his stuntwork. Was it good or bad though, when everyone thought they could do a 'Frank Spencer' impression?

I used to love it... don't like it much now though... it seems not to have aged very well.

I think another series that can be called classic , It`s one of those series that almost everyone can recall a favorite scene , yes it look old fashioned now , I can remember Frank blowing up a house while trying to fix a gas boiler , comes out of the front door clothes smoking face black , turns to the owner and says "well that`s the best I can do for now" , who can forget the Christmas episode with Frank being winched off the church roof dressed as an Angel .

Yet another great Britcom that our local (Seattle) PBS station used to play, and sister and I adored. Haven't seen this in years. I was surprised to hear Michael Crawford was doing so well on Broadway, many years later. He must have been very young in this show!

He must have been very young in this show! I'd never tried to work out how old he actually was when he did this.... Until now. Michael Crawford, OBE (born Michael Patrick Dumble-Smith, 19 January 1942 in Salisbury, Wiltshire), is an English actor and singer. He has won critical acclaim and numerous awards during his career, which includes radio, television and stage (including appearing on stage in the West End in London, and on Broadway in New York).
Although he most often appears on stage, in musicals such as Phantom of the Opera and Barnum, he first became a household name and famous to millions for his role as the hapless Frank Spencer in the British television sitcom Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (1973-78), for which he performed most of his own stunts. The series became one of the BBC's most successful programmes of all time.

Wish FM have been using the theme tune on one of their adverts lately. I've finally realised the Some Mothers theme tune is actually played on a whistling kettle! ;D
(Sorry but I can't find a link to show you)
