This could end up like the 'Red Dwarf' film, but you never know. Found this article about it...
A big screen version of Blackadder is on the verge of being filmed, 17 years after the last episode of the cult British TV comedy aired.
Star Rowan Atkinson is keen on shooting a Blackadder movie, which screenwriter Ben Elton wants to set during the Russian Revolution.
Stephen Fry, who played Lord Melchett in the hit show, says: "I chatted to Rowan at the weekend. He's bean doing a Bean movie in France and confided that he missed the joys of Blackadder rehearsals and all that.
"Ben wants to do a Blackadder movie set in the Russian Revolution with a Russian branch of the family. He has some brilliant ideas. Maybe it will happen.
"(But) there's a lot of feeling that we left it on such a high note that it would be a bad idea to go back.
"There's nothing worse than an overweight boxer past his prime lumbering into the ring past his sell-by date."

Hmmm, it might work. The later specials were enjoyable, IMHO.

Sorry but I really don't think it would work.
Please leave it as it was.

I enjoyed the Millennium Dome special, Back & Forth. That worked for me. Not sure about the Russian bit though, can't see that working. Blackadder has always been 'English'!

Yes.. let's not do another... it was very 'of it's time' and should be left on a high note indeed.

Blackadder was good in it's time and yes I do still find it funny but they should just leave it alone....

Have to agree with Gary - the Russian influence just does not sound like it would have much comedic value.
I think they should go back to an idea they had years ago. Batadder!! It was subsequently adapted and some of it became part of the Comic Relief special as ""Spider Plant Man" in 2005. Star Adder has also been suggested set in space in the future. Either one of those could work as either a film, or even a new series.

There was even a rumour about it being set in the 1970's a while ago!
