Here in advance is the poll for Spikey's new Beeb show.
Been on the cards for ages and at last, broadcast today 22nd September, 2006.
So in advance... here's a poll for it!
Now I know I'm a cynical get... but I like Mr S's material... I also thought "Dead Man Weds" was okay (but nowt special)... so I'm going to be watching this purely as a Spikey and a Comedy Fan...
Then I'll do me usual trick... have a think about it... form an opinion... post a comment and vote... then probably a few days after change me opinion again (oh fickle me).
Anyhow - I'm prepared to give it a good chance - ARE YOU?
;D

By the way... anyone who votes prior to 9pm is a cheating get! AND don't be posting 'til it's gone off - now be fair! ;D N.

Well, it was OK.
My first thoughts when watching it.... "oh look, it's him off Corrie, oh it's her off Corrie, him off 'clocking off',.Hey, Steve Rolye, he did Dave Spikey's support act when he was on tour. There's Dave Spikey..."
All that out of the way, yeah, it was OK, some good lines in it but it wasn't brilliant. Needs a bit of work if it's to continue as a series.
That said, would it be better to watch it a second time? I had similar thoughts when I first watched Phoenix Nights. After watching it again, spotted more gags and got into it. With Magnolia, it was alreet!

Yep... it was okay but nowt brilliant... although I have to say I reckon Ralph Ineson played a good role in that. As to Mark Benton - well, I rate him anyway, so seeing him play such an obnoxious got was good! One liners - some belters in there... but I reckon it struggled in parts... then again, seeing that it was on for an hour I'm not surprised - half an hour would've worked better. That being said - if this was to become a series, I'd watch it - definite potential there. N.

Certainly has potential. Excellent cast, which speaks volumes for how highly regarded Dave Spikey is. Good to see Dave didn't give himself a top of the bill role, as a certain former writing partner of his would no doubt have done.
