* A quick note from Columbo - although I reckon that this is a total pile of c*ck, I've moved it from the 'Good Riddance' section because there are some people that do actually like it (misguided though they may be).
Anyhow - carry on Funk, I'll see myself out.
N.---------- Has there ever been such an eagerly awaited, yet so utterly dreadful, comedy series as RTN? Possibly, but it was nevertheless spectactularly awful, especially when compared to the wonderful Phoenix Nights.

I knew this wouldn't take long to crop up. I expected Columbo to get in first on this! It was a big dissapointment. I thought the first episode wasn't too bad, or the one with the pig. But the worst thing they did was introduce a running storyline about Max's Kid and his ex-midget bird, Tina. I think that had a lot to do with how unpopular it was! They should have stuck to individual adventures each week and concentrated on the comedy. A great comedy does not need much plot! That said though, should I be shot for owning a signed copy of the VD? In my defence, I was adding it to my Peter Kay collection....

I think what proved to be the major downfall of
Max & Paddy's Road To Nowhere!!
was that whether it was very good or unbelievably shite people would always compare it to Phoenix Nights.
Personally on the whole the show was not amazing it had it's good points (NODDY HOLDER!!!!) and it also had it's bad points.
No matter how you feel I bet you find yourself quoting the show!!!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

think your being a tad harsh on RTN. the episode which sees them in prison is genius.
Paddy: It's alrite for you, a good-looking young lad like me's mice meat in here.
Max: I've seen a payphone down there...WHAT DO MEAN ALRITE FOR ME!

The prison ep was the best, but mostly because of Brian Potter's appearance.

Nope - I think it was all sh*te... and re: Brian Potter's appearance... that was contrived, milked and recycled... let's do the "I don't know if you've noticed but I'm disabled" routine again as well as another "Sweet Baby Jesus" comment - Nope, didn't like it ONE BIT! The images. Recrecreating the characters looks. The look on McGuinness' face. Ah! ;D Wish I could share your point of view there... I'll have to stare at it confusedly instead... like a dog trying to understand a conversation whilst everyone says: "Aaw... look at him... he understands every word etc." ;D N.
