How come this great series has not featured before? It's very funny, with a lot of running jokes, great storylines and brilliant characters. The odd-talking policeman cracks me up! Some gorgeous babes, too! And all this against the grim background of Nazi occupation. Just shows that comedy crosses all boundaries. Episodes are still being shown on the Beeb on Sunday lunchtimes. Still as funny as ever.

They brought this to PBS in Minnesota a while back. I tuned in, remembering a hilarious show from when I was younger, and it fell flat for me.
Maybe after watching it the first time as a hormone-ridden teenager, the sexy women and innuendo were good. For some reason as an adult years later it wasn't the same.
But it was always fun when Officer Crabtree p*ssed someone a massage.

How come this great series has not featured before? I thought this was already on. I must be wrong! I was never a big fan of it but I could tolerate a bit! ;D Also, this is now a topical thread, as they are making a new one-off special... Click ThisI didn't realise Gordon Kaye was still alive!

I watched that. The staged reunion in Rene's Cafe was a bit of a flop, but the clips and interviews were most enjoyable.
I loved watching this as a child when it was first on (though I didn't see it until about 1986 0r 87), so seeing it again recently was very nostalgic. In case anyone's interested, Herr Flick's my favourite.

I used to love this series. Perhaps because the jokes were so enormous, even I could understand them. But I particularly enjoyed the sterotyping of nationalities. It was great fun seeing the French as sexual maniacs and the Germans as control freaks.
