As for the Maguires - have you seen any of series 4? Although Marty ain't in it, nor are Kev and his missus, the they feature strongly and are pretty good in there. Belting stuff! N. No, I haven't seen any of series 4 yet, even though you did tell me it as being repeated not long ago. I recorded the first episode, then forgot about the rest, so I'll just wait for t'DVD now.

Well worth it providing you like the Maguires... if not, then it's disappointing as they feature strongly - they're belters though! Plus - 1st episode, you get to see Frank in a chip pan fire... and the heroic pet pooch... well... I'll not spoil it for ye - well funny! N.

Although, Shameless without Marty, Kev & Veronica won't be the same I reckon. Still, looking forward to watching 'em though.

I saw most of season one on BBC America and loved it. Typically though, it's never surfaced again since. BBCA would rather fill their schedule with old repeats of Benny Hill. I'm rapidly losing hope for season 2 of Life on Mars as well....ah well, there's always hope. Wayhay! I've rediscovered Shameless! Another channel has picked up seasons 1 and 2 - and will probably get the rest. And, given it's an independent 'premium' channel, they probably won't edit it like BBC America did. Only prob is, their schedule is all over the place (not uncommon for US cable channels) - S1E1 isn't on till the 21st, yet S1E5 aired last night. I'm gonna have to keep me eye on the listings and keep 'em recorded until I can watch 'em in sequence, but still - Shameless is back! Well chuffed.

It's well worth watching too Shake... Series 5 surprised me. I didn't think they could make a 16 parter work, but they pulled it off quite well. Some episodes were a bit daft at times, but it made good telly.

I know - I remember most of Season 1 from BBC America - but it'll never see the light of day there again. ;D
Just have to wait now until Sundance Channel have aired all of them, then sort out the right order to watch them in.

Hmm... I argue that re: series 5 - loved the rest, but reckon this was past its sell by date.
Did this review for 'play.com'
I'm a huge fan of the series and this will probably upset some of the die-hard fans - but I can't heap praise on Series 5 - the show's run it's course and now deserves a decent burial before it gets any worse.
Okay... so there's one or two gems in there - the episode with Paddy's brother... and there's some classic scenes featuring Shane and Mickey - but the Maguires alone can't save this series I reckon.
A lot of it seems to be self-indulgent nonsense - no doubt fun for the actors, but painful to watch - the 'dream' sequences... the 'flashback' stuff - a technique that's great when done properly, but I fear this has been done because the 'ideas train' has left the platform, and no-one's sure when the next one will be arriving.
I'll get this when it's 'on the cheap' so I can see some of the scenes I like again, but on the whole - a disappointment.
No wonder Kev, Veronica, Marty, Lip and all the others that made it great did a bunk - I'm off to watch some of series one again - I'll just pretend that series five was 'all a dream' for now.

It just might be - Maybe season six will start with one of the 'good' characters coming out of the shower

Aye, and then M-M - sp*nkf*ce!!! Marty will be back in it - best character! N. Not heard of him yet, but the general consensus is that Sundance will be showing all 5 seasons - they're referring to it as 'our exclusive series'. I can't for the life of me figure out why they're showing seasons 1 and 2 in such a mess though. Right now I have seven eps recorded to the Moxi, and can't watch any of them. Here's Sundance's (nutty) schedule: SEASON 11. May 16, 3am 2. May 21, 3am 3. May 23, 3am 4. May 28, 3am 5. May 7, 3am 6. May 9, 3am7. May 14, 3am SEASON 21. May 11, 8pm2. May 18, 8pm 3. May 25, 8pm 4-6 not listed on May's schedule, probably airing in June (I hope) 7. May 10, 11:30pm 8. May 11, 12:15am 9. May 11, 1am 10.May 8, 11pmThe ones in red, I've got recorded, but what a nightmare schedule!

I finally got enough sequential Shamlesses(?) on me Moxi to watch all of season 1 and the first 3 of season 2, and I have to say, I love it. Really great to see it back in the US, though this time, unlike BBC America, unedited for language and content - and without ads. I've had a mini-marathon today - sat through seven episodes!
