Good stuff - you're watching the best series there... three's not so bad... and then unfortunately after that... the characters... the stories... they all disappear/tail off etc. Marty's still a corking character though!  N. |

Not seen any of the new series of this yet. Got the first 2 episodes sky+'d, so I'll try and get round to watching them as soon as...

I haven't watched this since Charter upped their prices and we dropped the channel tier that had the channel that was showing it.

i have to say i cant stand this show its like the royal family and 2 pints of larger and a packet of crisps
as far as i am aware ther is nothing funny about drug addicts acohlics or depressing family who sit on a couch and have nothing more to say to each other than
"what ya had fer ye tea then"
i think the problem is it reminds me far to much of the area i live in
having said that it is a sad day ideed when we laugh at such tragic events
are our own lives realy so far removed
should we be lauging or should we be doing something about the social inequatity depravation and general social decay!

"Oh wow, Heavy heavy!"I suppose the likes of Shameless and the Royle family are an aqcuired taste. Personally I like them both. Now I know there's nothing funny about drugs and alcoholics or gangsters for that matter, but there's some great characters in Shameless, brought to life by some very fine actors. This is a fine example of comedy drama. It knows when to make you laugh and can also handle the delicate subjects very well. For example, there's been a heroin addiction story this series which has had moments of melodrama, but has been handled superbly. Of course, when we talk about heroin addict storylines, if you're my age, then you'll always remember Zammo! "Just Say No!" |

opps sorry if its a bit of a diatribe but hey its my oppinion you are right though mr Hulk there are some excelent actors and actrseses including  Ricky Tomlinson  Sue Jostone  and Caroline Ahen (who is also an exceptionaly talented writer)  but when you can see stuff like this goin on on your own doorstep it puts a slightly different perspective on things and any friday night were i live can be like an episode of shamless |

Since you cited both her writing and acting talent, and she does both (very well) in that show. |
