t'is indeed... I was wondering where t'other guitar bit was... it's NOT THERE! Great version though... and he sings it straight. ? Well, he doesn't go: "Is it myyyye imaaa-djinn-hey-sheee-ayne!" ;D Here's what I done just bought... well, Mrs. paid for it but I picked it up and tested it ready to be put away for St. Chrimbo: Tested it - works belting - TOP picture too! AND it plays back 'copied' stuff too - I tested the "Where Is Rowan Morrison" music vid on it! ;D N. Sh*t Hot! I've just found an 'online region hack' - I now have a Portable, Multi-region DVD Player! Now I can play me "Day Of The Dead" and "Leon" Region 1 Special Edition DVDs on it - Dink Dank Doo! ;D N.

Is the 'region hack' safe to do though? You'll have to mind it doesn't f*ck the machine up.

Yep - it's safe - it just lets you go into 'Factory Settings' and alter...
Hey, I'm not daft me - the ruddy thing cost £125!!! ;D
Nah - I've done it with a DVD player before which was the same make (Wharfedale) - a cracking make and still works belting - never had any probs.
It's not like doing a Megadrive to accommodate Jap. games, where you had to use a hacksaw and a file - mind you, I did that too - no probs.
;D

Currently playing (and sort of in love with ;D ) Bully for PS2. Called "Canis Canem Edit" in the UK I think. Sort of GTA San Andreas meets SkoolDaze for the Spectrum. ;D Am intrigued with that one... I wonder whether or not to get it. Let me know if it's any good Paul - is there any scope for 'free roaming'/side missions also? N. It's a belter, Neil, once you get used to the slightly weird controls. It's like a waterred down, less violent version of GTA, without the bad language, sort of GTA Junior, if you like. For example, the default weapon is a catapult, but the most violent is probably the firework launcher. Players get "knocked out" rather than killed and the worst expletive is probably crap or damn. It IS a free roaming-type game though the area is small compared to San Andreas. There are four distinct areas though, the school (complete with two floors and separate areas for the library, the gym, etc), the town itself, the posh part of town, and the manky part of town. Altogether they form one large area when unlocked that flow together. It has to be a smaller area though by necessity. Since he's a schoolkid, the only forms of transport he has are his skateboard, various BMX-type bikes, or eventually a moped. The town environment changes as you play through the different chapters too, like, for example, near the start it's autumn, so there are leaves and halloween pumpkins around, then later there's snow for Christmas and so on. He's also customisable, different haircuts (and colours), different clothes (that are usually themed, either all the school clothes, all the posh clothes etc) and even basic tatoos later in the game. Most clothes you buy, some you win (like the halloween costume) by passing missions in the game. There are plenty of side missions, but they're all school-kid related, like mowing lawns using a tractor mower, bike races, escorting girls to their dorm for a kiss, and so on. There's even a "paper round" minigame similar to the courier delivery side missions in San Andreas that actually put me in mind of another 8-bit classic - it's like a modern retake on Paperboy. There's also the collectibles similar to San Andreas...but in this game they're primarily rubber bands (to make a giant rubber ball), and coolectible cards. There are also crappy arcade games at the various save houses, but (aside from one which is necessary for a sidemission) they're nothing special. Again, comparable to San Andreas in that respect. There you go, more than you ever wanted to know about Bully, or Canis Canem Edit. Honestly, I could work for IGN, I could. ;D

As for Family Guy, absolute tat. Already sealed back in the mailer ready to be returned to Gamefly. To quote the show: "This was worse than that time I rented that really bad video game based on a TV show of the same name!" *Cut to strange flashback* Currently considering buying one of these to replace our expensive cable-service-supplied DVR. As you might know, I said we were considering moving; well, we're not. Looks like we're staying put, which means we have to tighten the belts, so no more expensive tackle from the cable guys. Hence this thing. A DVD Recorder with 80GB hard drive for hard disk recording. Also has limited DVR functions. One last big blowout and Christmas present to ourselves before we have to start saving.

On the subject of early Christmas pressies, my missus bought me an early one today. The new release Special Collector's Edition of the Green Mile on DVD. Not a whole lot of special features, but a director commentary with Frank Darabont, and some previously unseen stuff.
A little disappointed that they've split the movie over two discs (although it is almost a 4 hour movie!) but still, absolutely awesome! Much better picture and sound quality than my original disc too. ;D

One of Mrs. Spielberg's favourites.
