The only channel that airs Torchwood here is CBC. Not sure if they plan on airing the second season. We missed most of season one because it was on a Friday night and I forget to record it. The episodes we did watch looked really good.

As for what I've been up to, walking, and (gulp!), losing weight.

Since January, when the weather permits, I go out for a walk most days. That, combined with the carb-counting diabetical eating I've been doing, and I've appeared to start losing weight. On Tuesday Renee and I cleared out an old closet we haven't looked in for about four years. I found a load of old clothes I haven't worn since then. They stopped fitting when I put extra weight on. Now I find, I can get into the jeans, the blazer, and three of the four shirts I found!

It's only a baby step in the direction I need to go, but I am absolutely chuffed with meself.

I've been able to wear stuff recently I got ages ago that was always too tight, but bought it coz it was cheap in the sale!

Today has been a day and a half. For a few weeks now a friend of mine at work has been trying to avoid eviction from the house that she shared with her son and daughter-in-law. It turns out that the D-in-l was suppose to be paying the rent and she hadn't been since last November. Then 2 months ago she takes off for Arizona leaving hubby and Mom-in-law to clean up the mess. Well, today their final hope of staying in the house was lost and they were given 24 hours to leave. In comes the missing wife's father who is feeling a little guilty about what his daughter has done. He has offered his home to my friend, Diane, and her son until they can find something else. The problem is Diane has a cat and the Dad doesn't like pets. So we are now kittysitting her cat. He is neutered, thank God. His name is Cowboy and he's a Birman. He looks sort of like this:

I'm not sure how long he'll be with us, it may be a few days, weeks or even months, but as long as my cat Kallie doesn't freak out he's welcome.
