We haven't got a nosey thread like this on here. OK, we've got what have you been buying, when did you last have a sh*te, etc... But not a general 'what have you been doing lately?' one.
Anyway,
I sounded like Frank Skinner then!
Yesterday, myself and Mrs Sheds went to Cheshire Oaks (clothes shopping area in Ellesmere port) for a little mooch.
Just as we arrived at the car park, a warning light came on the dashboard of the car. When we looked, the temperature guage was in the red! Oh dear. Not good.
Well we were there anyway and it would have a couple of hours to cool down a bit, which it did slightly.
We set off home. The warning light had gone off. That was a relief. However, a few minutes into the journey home, I noticed the temperature guage rising once again. 'Holy shit' I thought, especially as we were on a busy motorway at the time.
At one point I pulled over on the hard shoulder to have a look under the bonnet. I fiddled with a couple of wires (as you do!), hoping to find a switch which triggers the cooling fan. With no success, I got back in the car and hoped for the best.
My main intention was to get off the motorway as soon as I could.
I made it to Haydock, where I left the motorway. As I approached some traffics lights at Haydock island (which is also very busy) I heard a creaking noise coming from the engine and could also smell something like burning rubber. I managed to get away from the busy roundabout and pulled into the nearest layby I could find.
From then, we rang a local garage for assistance. They towed our car back to the garage. We are still awaiting the verdict as to what's wrong with the car. I just hope I haven't f*cked the engine up!
