Started essay...Realised can't Do it...had nasty panic F*ck me - now there's defeatest(!) Okay... me in 'analytical mode'. 'Started' and then 'can't' - looks like limited attempt. Leave the fr*gging thing for a bit - chill out... THEN relook at it. If it's still problematic, get in touch with whoever runs your course and get 'em to give pointers. Believe me - doing an essay after years of no schooling IS hard - and I speak from experience... but it'll come!!! So - pull yer socks up! Stop skriking! Put yer foot down with a firm hand and HAVE A GO! Hey... I didn't get seventy odd percent pas marks for nowt during my study for nowt ye know... preseverance and determination - and I've not always been 'academic' - so if I can do it - any fooker can! Now this should be seen as a POSITIVE post from me - not a NEGATIVE - so I hope it's received as such! N.

Update...TXTed Tutor...seeing her Monday before 'Class' for help...I know it's in me and I can...But I have to get that past the bad thoughts and sometimes it takes a lot to do it PS..Blackbird...*Rasp* Good stuff - and I'm not trivialising your feelings here when I say this - but these are issues we can all go through... how one copes with stuff isn't always easy, but through positive action/appropriate support etc. etc. things can work out. Just because I work in Mental Health, doesn't mean I know it all and have solutions - if so, I wouldn't have needed a Brufen today for the pain I got in my neck and shoulders through stress (long story) - so there's no specific 'cure'... there are various ways of supporting... if ever ye get change look up: Stress Vulnerability Model Coping Strategies Distraction Techniques If ye've heard this before - then tell me to fire off. One possible 'short term intervention' can be this... have a try. 1. Tense a muscle (any - arm/leg/buttock - wherever) 2. Hold that 'tension' for say 5 seconds. 3. Relax. 4. Repeat. Now what's it for? To help as 'distraction' and alleviate anxiety to a degree by 'taking your mind off stuff'. If it works - good. If not - no harm done. May help - worth a go, I have it work for me at times, and suggest it for people also. Main thing I reckon is that you're gtting in touch with the tutor - you've identified a problem and are looking at a solution rather than 'avoiding' and giving into negative aspects. Anyhow - fr*g me... it's like being at work this... and I'm not getting paid! Hope some of that makes sense if not all - let me know! N.

I am indeed! And that's not just my opinion - me doggies agree! Put it ths way - when you HAVE passed re the essay - let us know by posting here - I'll be adding my congrats! Every esay I had to do - I sh*t myself and panicked that I'd b*lls up - had the sense to get advice and support and put the effort in... As I said, if I can do it - any f*cker can - so get on with it... That's LEAVING IT FOR NOW though - concentrate on Doctor Who - THEN get stuck in - it's tomrrow's episode that's kept me going all week - had some sh*t going on, but dealt with it by knowing that Saturday's going to be a belter! That's another trick - using a 'token' strategy (or 'reward') - you 'pay yourself' for achieving something no matter what - that's what I did this week in order to get my 'reward' which is thus: 1. Doctor Who (I may have mentioned that). 2. Pizza whilst watching 'The Invisible Enemy' DVD! 3. This which I've afforded through a 10% discount offer, plus money saved plus eBay sales: What the f*ck's hebought now, the daft s*d!Okay... so no. 3 will be here later in the week - but that's my NEXT 'treat' - to go out next Saturday to test it providing I achieve my set 'goal' for the week... and having something to look forward to will increase the chances of success! N.

Good stuff - a plan eh? Sounds like a plan to me! As I said - less "Woe Is Me" and more "Fr*gging hell, no-one is going to do this for me... I WILL get stuck in and try my best - no one could do more!" Positivity dear fellow - you KNOW it makes sense! N.

Back - checked me order had gone through proper for my telescope - to come in a few days - corker! Checked 'eBay' re: the DS and PS2 games I'm selling. Cleaned up a bit. Now I'm off out to go up town - have to pick up some contact lenses and nip in the bank. THEN... Doggies to go out again - followed by (and you KNOW it) - DOCTOR WHO!!! That'll Dink Dank Doo for me, flowers! N.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry King Arthur and his Knights The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood They were part of the Companion Library Classic Children books. A real steal because most of the charity shops here price them at $5 per book.

I spent the day in Ulverston yesterday. (birthplace of Stan Laurel) It was their annual carnival day where several Laurel & Hardy fans gather for the carnival parade followed by drinking plenty.
It was a good day too, although there weren't as many there as usual. Probably due to the rain and the fact that there's an international Laurel & Hardy convention starting today.
