Mr. Bluebottle couldn't make it (due to work commitment) I still think you could've rung in sick though ;D It wasn't to bad a day (apart from the torrential rain). We nearly held our Annual Event in the back of a minibus. The Planet Comedy lot got to the Beer Engine at 10.45, (a little too early). The Beer Engine was meant to be open at 11 so we could go in and get things set up. Neil (gruntfuttock) turned up at 11 with all the gear, but the pub was still not open. At 11.50 the cleaner showed up but without a key, so she too was waiting outside with the rest of us Eventually at 12.30pm someone turned up with a key. No apologies by the way for keeping us waiting! We therefore had only half an hour to set things up. People were coming in and we were still putting up posters around the place. Luckily this didn't put people off and the day went ahead with a great turnout of people and was quite a pleasant day. The only other snag was the 'Beer Engine' folk promised to have food on, but they never did until about 5pm, when someone showed up with a tray of sandwiches! I'm sorry but that didn't suit me, especially when drinking beer. Fortunately, there was a chippy open just down the road, so we [bacon grabbers] all ate from there. Despite all the setbacks and talks of finding a new venue, the day went well. Ben Young from Southend won the 10th Kneesy Earsy Nosey contest. I got eliminated again for being called 'Gary', to which I presented a deedpoll certificate claiming I had changed my name to Angus McLaurel the 2nd. I was allowed back in the game, but soon disqualified again because i'd changed my name halfway through the competition! Nearly forgot to mention. The annual quiz as presented by David Wyatt [aka Neil Diamond] was won by our very own team. all of who are members on here! So well done to us.... That is Me, Zygon, Gruntfuttock & Blackraven....
