Forgot all about this thread! A little tale from today. An old fella was (seemingly) coppering up in the back and worried that he wouldn't have enough money to pay me at the end of the journey. He asked me if I'd accept his 'gold card' "I'm sorry but that's just plastic to me mate, but I can stop off at a cash machine" "Bloody ridiculous!....."you'd think cards would be accepted anywhere these days". I did mention that another taxi firm has just introduced card payments but not the one I'm working from, so good hard cash is all I can accept. There was no getting through to the fella, he just continued to sulk and complain until we reached the destination. In the end, he DID have enough money + a £1.50 tip! I think he was just wanting to show off his gold card!

Sheesh!! nowt wrong with good old fashion cash... I don't think I'd have the nerve to call a taxi if I didn't have enough change to pay for one!

Picked a fella up yesterday. He was trying to show off to his two female friends about his musical knowledge. He said he could name the artist of any song that came on the radio. This conversation started as he got in. At the time, 'The One and Only' was on...
"Ooh it's Cherry Hawkins" he said.
I never joined in the conversation. he rhymed off several artists from the 70's & 80's. An easy thing to do I thought.
I laughed to myself again as he got talking about and artist who made a great song called 'Dance With My Father'. The artist in question was of course...
Luther Van-de-Ross
I thought Luther Vandross sung that one!
;D
