I still have a soft spot for the PS2... will get one for myself again sometime in the future, when cash-flow allows! LOVE the Sims! Is Castaway any good? Last week I took advantage of the fact that Sims 2 has dropped in price because Sims 3 will be out very soon & finally got myself the basic package for the PC...... there goes any chance of me studying in the evenings! Well, thanks to socio-economic disparity(!) a newer console is out of the question, as is a PC that's even good enough to run the Sims 2 - though Sims 1 & all expansion packs run beautifully here! Castaway is basically "The Sims does Survivor" or "The Sims meets Lost", and while it retains traditional Sims-on-the-console elements, it also does away with a lot of them since there's never been a Sims game set in this environment. The console Sims aren't really my cup of tea (I don't like the goal-oriented gameplay) but, in the day and a half she's had it (and played it to death) Renee has declared she loves it, although the camera, chimps(!) and boar(!!!) can apparently be glitchy. As for KK, pass on our best, since we haven't spoken to him in what seems like weeks. He (or someone) came online briefly in Yahoo Messenger yesterday, but as soon as I sent a "how are you?"-type message, they disappeared without answering. Just let him know we're thinking of him, and let him know we still exist! (Oh, and hope he gets better soon.)

I'll let him know you're asking after him but I've barely spoken to him myself.... he's so wiped out that conversation is hard work for him... he just wants to sleep all the time, poor baby.

I found a replacement to the tweed coats I (cough) outgrew for a grand total of $3.00. Very happy with my find. The weather is very cold here in the fall and it was brutal not having my long tweed coat.

A new (to me) car. Put down a deposit on a Citroen C3. Arguing with Mrs L over the best way to pay for it. Also bought some plants for the rockery, and then made the mistake of letting our rabbits out and not keeping an eye on them. MMMMMMMM yummy, look, flowers. They didn't touch the succulents but removed every flower head from the violas. Also bought Mrs L a Begonia as a (token) present as we've been together for 24 years today. I think there's a joke about that, isn't there ? ;D

Congrats on the 24 years! no comment on the joke front What's the C3 like to drive? I think they look cute - how girlie is that? The only thing I've been buying recently is chocolate - 'tis the season, etc.

What's the C3 like to drive? I think they look cute - how girlie is that? Cute ? Oh dear, maybe you're right. I didn't really think of that, more about the 70mpg I think it will do. It's very smooth and has enough go in it if I feel like driving like I used too, before diesel was £1 a litre ! Still, it may be academic what I think as I am sure that as soon as Mrs L tries it, my new car will be her old one.

Just bought my eldest a Nintendo DSi. She's been saving like mad for a DS lite, so we agreed to make up the difference for her on the newer console. I'll either have a willing slave for chores over the next few weeks or an addict. Mmmm, I wonder which it will be? ;D

Had to get the Distributor for my car - the garage could only get a new one for £175 so I had a look on ebay & got one for £75 inc postage - much better! The next day I had a message from eBay telling me I had a 10% off voucher - why couldn't I have got that the day before when I needed it?! I believe that's called Sod's Law

I bought a large sundae at Dairy Queen and a pair of jeans. I sold some boxsets so I had extra cash to burn.. Usually we avoid the mall on a Saturday.

Since my old one broke (alright, I dropped it) last Summer, and Renee wants me to have a mobile when I go out walking on my own now the weather's nicer, we bought me (supposedly) a new mobile.
It's a basic pay-as-you-go model on the same network as Renee's mobile, and they're virtually identical except the new one (mine!) is a flip phone.
All I got do do with MY new phone was set it up. Renee announces she REALLY wants the flip phone (mine!!) as she's wanted a 'cool' phone like that since 1966(!!!!!) when she saw the first Star Trek communicator. Me, knowing which side my bread is buttered, agree (reluctantly) and get given her old phone.
Which is actually kind of cool. She just topped it up, so I get $98 on her old phone, whereas she only gets $20 on my (supposedly) new phone.

More books. I've been watching the Carry Ons and being a bit (a BIT ? ;D) obsessive I decided to read Kenneth Williams' autobiography, which raised some questions, which made me decide to invest (er....?) in some of the other biogrophies of the other Carry On stars. Got Joan Simms, Barbara Windsor, Charles Hawtrey and The Kenneth Williams diaries, all for about £20, most of which was postage. Bargain. I think.
