I trust you were referring to the way you feel and not your beloved ?? Amazing how a bit of punctuation can make something sound ambiguous, innit ? I'm sure she will understand and be gentle with you in your fragile state. Hope you feel better soon. ;D Good luck with the essay.

Oh boy ! Went to Southend today at the invitation of a supplier. Looked round the warehouse and ordered a few bits and pieces, then on to a meal down the road. Only, it turned out not to be just a meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew there was going to be a comedian entertaining us after the meal, and the flyer I got beforehand said:"A great afternoon's entertainment with compere Adrian Doughty and his 'little puppies' Erica and Charlie providing a 'Bumper Size'show. Exact wording. This is Charlie: And this is Erica: I will say no more than that I am very broad-minded and not easily offended, but their act was a whole lot more adult than I was expecting or could really enjoy.

I've been keeping busy with my little one and just life in general. I found a message board that has old episodes of american soaps. I've been on that site quite a bit lately. They also have Corrie and Emmerdale available to watch. Quite happy that I can get caught up on Emmerdale.

Had a great Christmas day at my Mum's, a wonderful meal and then silly games in front of an open fire, with lots of wine. Yesterday we woke up late and Mrs L started to do a cooked breakfast, only to have the power go off. It stayed off for 2 hours, which put the kybosh on us going to the cinema, as the only showing of the film we were going to see was at 11.30. (We could have done it but Mrs L wouldn't go out without her usual 1 1/2 hours of self-preparation.) So I decided to do a few jobs and started with putting a replacement radio in Mrs L's car as hers had packed up. This was the easiest job I have ever done on a car and I was really pleased with myself. I turned on the radio and.............. no sound. I opened the driver's door, and it worked perfectly. Shut it and it went off. This was obviously part of the fault on the last radio as the volume wouldn't go past level 5 which is inaudible unless the car is stationary. Think I'll need help on that one. Then I put a striplight in the rabbit shed and proved that I am no electrician as I spent three hours trying to work out how to wire it in from another switch without making both lights come on. I had to run another lead off a plug in the utility room to make the shed light independent. Then the video recorder packed up and ate every tape we put in. Mrs L wants to go over to Sainsbury's , so I think that's a good excuse for me to browse through Curry's and Comet while she's there.

Got up wonderfully late (7am). Would have got up later but had to put out the rubbish. Went out at 11 to pick up one of Emily's friends, only to find that the front spring had broken on my car. Called the AA out and they said that I'd need a specialist tow truck as the spring had wrapped itself round the ABS pipes and if the car was moved it may have severed them. The other truck won't be here until Saturday and the garage can't repair it until Monday. Mrs L is her usual suicidal self, assuming the worst as usual. Had to raid the rainy day fund as it's p*ssing down !!!!!! Should cover about half of it. The afternoon has been a little better as I took little'un over to my friend's to help her with her new laptop. Was doubly good as I got to see her ex (my once best mate, all a bit complicated) as he came to pick her kids up. Haven't seen him for a while as he's been ill and didn't want any visitors. Hoping that today will be the ice-breaker. Would you believe he broke two ribs on Christmas Eve by sneezing ?!! Ouch. Off out tonight to some friends, if I can get Mrs L out of her depression.

Oh boy, the saga of the spring continues. The truck came on Friday to get my car, only for the guy to say that it was too close to the house to get the lifting gear under. They said that it would need a HIAB. Expecting them to turn up later with a flat-bed lorry with HIAB, we waited and waited ..................and waited. Phoned them on Saturday at 2pm as it still hadn't turned up, only to be told that it wasn't going to arrive as it had been called out to an accident. Phoned the AA this morning and was told that due to the adverse weather conditions all the trucks belonging to their contractors were busy, and that, basically, we are not a priority. Then they told us that in fact what was going to happen was that a HIAB would come and lift the car on to the road, then an AA truck would come and take it to the garage. When we asked when this was likely to be, they wouldn't commit themselves to a specific day !!!!!!! So, I took drastic action and courtesy of a customer who used to own a garage lending me a heavy trolley and a trolley jack, and two neighbours, we used Mrs L's car to pull my car out on to the road. Hopefully no extra damage has been done, and the jolly old AA will take my car tomorrow. However I don't hold out too much hope as I just phoned them and a recorded message says that any vehicle not in a dangerous or vulnerable position will have to wait at least 24 hours. I have tomorrow off , and Mrs L has Wednesday off, but after that I am stuffed !

Good grief, Mr L, you're not having a great start to the year! Hope it gets better for you. I've not been able to get on, due to lack of internet at work, so I've missed a bit.... here's what's been happening my end: Had my last day at the Council on Wed followed by a very subdued leaving drink at the pub - quite sad to say goodbye to everyone. NYE was also quiet, just me & KK saying "Good Riddance" to 2009 with a few drinks on the sofa - I fell asleep around half 9 & had to be woken up again for midnight! After a couple of days of not doing much I started my new job on Monday. I have so much to learn it seems impossible at the mo! But it's a good company with nice people, so I'm sure I'll get on fine. Then, of course yesterday, the snow came It was my second day so I had to at least try to make it into work. I've never had such a scary drive, but I made it in eventually - it took me 3 hours to do a half hour journey But it was worse coming home. They sent us home early because of the snow - I took the M6 thinking it would be safer, but a lorry had broken down and the recovery truck caught on fire! so I was sat with my engine off for an hour + half...... still, I was entertained watching a couple making a snowman in the fast lane of the M6 it took me 4 hours to get home! Sheesh. Today is a snow day.... I just have a massive manual of procedures to read

Glad to hear you got there and back safely, if a little slowly.
Now got my car back and Mrs L's car now has a working stereo and window and central locking thanks to my mechanic mate who fixed some broken wires in the door. An expensive week, but much less than I was expecting so not too upset.
